How Many Days Old Am I? Age in Days, Weeks and Hours
Find exactly how many days old you are, convert it to weeks, hours and minutes, check it by hand with leap years, and find the date of your 10,000th day.
The short answer
Enter your date of birth in the free Age Calculator and read the Total days box: that is how many days old you are today. Someone born on 15 August 2000 is 9,573 days old on 31 October 2026. To work it out by hand, count the days from your birth date up to today; to get weeks, divide by 7, and for hours, multiply by 24.
What "days old" means
Your age in days is the number of days that have passed since you were born. On your date of birth you were 0 days old; the next day you were 1 day old. The calculator counts it the same way: the birth date itself is not counted as day 1.
Leap years are included automatically. Every 29 February since you were born adds one day, which is why age in days is not simply years × 365.
How to find it with the Age Calculator
- your age in years, months and days
- Total days lived
- days until your next birthday
- your zodiac sign
To find how old you will be on a future date, or were on a past one, change Age as of. For exam and job forms that ask for age on a cut-off date, see how to calculate age as on a cut-off date.
Worked examples
All figures below are as of 31 October 2026.
| Date of birth | Age | Total days | Weeks (and days) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 15 August 2000 | 26 years, 2 months, 16 days | 9,573 | 1,367 weeks 4 days |
| 10 March 1995 | 31 years, 7 months, 21 days | 11,558 | 1,651 weeks 1 day |
| 29 February 2004 | 22 years, 8 months, 2 days | 8,280 | 1,182 weeks 6 days |
| 1 January 2026 | 9 months, 30 days | 303 | 43 weeks 2 days |
Converting days to weeks, hours and minutes
From the total days you can get any other unit:
- Weeks: divide by 7. 9,573 ÷ 7 = 1,367 with 4 left over, so 1,367 weeks and 4 days.
- Hours: multiply by 24. 9,573 × 24 = 229,752 hours.
- Minutes: multiply hours by 60. 229,752 × 60 = 13,785,120 minutes.
These are based on whole days from midnight to midnight. If you want to include the hours since the exact time you were born, you would need your birth time, and the result would change by up to a day's worth of hours.
If you would rather not do the maths, the Date Difference Calculator shows days, weeks, months, years, hours and minutes between any two dates at once. Put your birth date as the start date and today as the end date.
Doing it by hand
If you want to check the result without a calculator:
For 15 August 2000 to 31 October 2026:
- 26 whole years × 365 = 9,490 days
- Leap days between 15 August 2000 and 15 August 2026: 2004, 2008, 2012, 2016, 2020 and 2024 = 6 days
- 15 August 2026 to 31 October 2026 = 16 + 30 + 31 = 77 days (rest of August, September, October)
- Total: 9,490 + 6 + 77 = 9,573 days
That matches the calculator.
Milestone days: when is your 10,000th day?
Some people celebrate round-number days instead of, or as well as, birthdays. For someone born on 15 August 2000:
| Milestone | Date |
|---|---|
| 10,000 days | 1 January 2028 |
| 15,000 days | 9 September 2041 |
| 20,000 days | 19 May 2055 |
| 25,000 days | 25 January 2069 |
To find yours, the 10,000th day falls about 27 years and 4 to 5 months after your birth date, depending on leap days. To find the exact date, change Age as of in the Age Calculator to a date around then and adjust it until Total days shows 10,000.
Leap-day birthdays
If you were born on 29 February, your age in days is still exact, because it simply counts days. The next-birthday countdown in a non-leap year counts to 1 March, which is the date most people born on 29 February treat as their birthday in those years. In the table above, the 29 February 2004 example shows 121 days to the next birthday, which is 1 March 2027.
Common questions about the numbers
Why is my total different from another website by one day? Some tools count both the birth date and today, adding one. Others use the current time rather than whole days. The Age Calculator counts the days between the two dates.
Why does months-and-days age look odd near the end of a month? Months have different lengths, so "2 months 16 days" depends on which months are involved. Total days does not have this problem, which is why it is useful for exact comparisons.
Can I use this for a baby's age? Yes. Parents often track the first weeks and months in days or weeks. Divide total days by 7 for the age in weeks.
